STEADY | Live Unwavering Through New Seasons: Carrying It Out (pt.2)
Hello #becomingtribe, Makaela here! Most of you may know that I'm a part of the leadership team here at Become, but if not, from my southern hospitality to your heart- welcome ya'll! This new series we've started, Steady | Live Unwavering Through New Seasons, has already been so powerful and I pray the Lord continues to speak and move in all of your hearts.
If you haven't checked out the first part to this series (& all the practical and biblical application that came with it) check it out here: Steady | Live Unwavering Through New Seasons- PREPARE! :)
So we've learned how to prepare for the newness. How to end our last season well and prepare for this new one. And now we're in the middle of thing- the new season is all around us. Whether you're here with me, or will be one day, the lingering question is HOW do we carry this thing out?! How do we remain Steady through the New Season?!
Steady. A word I honestly don't like to hear sometimes. I mean lets be honest, friends? It can be so hard to live steady in the busyness of our lives. I'm in a new season of life right now where I feel like there is no steadiness around me at all. Honestly? I sometimes feel like my life at the moment feels like it's all over the place. I'm a full-time college student (that's a job in itself right?!), a part-time employee and I have a lot of other things that I'm committed to doing weekly.
New Seasons all look differently. Seasons change, Life changes- but God created us to be a STEADY woman through any season. Steady because He is steady. Not by our own strength, but simply learning how to live unwavering by abiding in Him.
I want to be steady in my spirit and then see how it affects my reality. Don't you?! I have great news friends. You can. We were created to- carrying it out in the middle of the thing, is possible for you and I!
Below are some practical steps and biblical application that I really believe will help us to Carry Out being Steady through our New Season:
Don't (I repeat, DON'T) neglect your life source
"God, create a clean heart for me and renew a steadfast spirit within me." (vs. 10). It is so easy to get so focused on our new season, and lose focus on our God in the middle of the season. We get busy, we get more friends, more emotions and thoughts and assignments. I've been here, I am here. But the BIGGEST tip for being steady through the season, is to stay close. And come often.
It's so fascinating to know that the Lord wants to give me (and you!), the one who is running around like a crazy person, rest and a renewed spirit when I'm so weary and feel like giving up in the unsteadiness of life. Steadiness is His specialty! Let this scripture be a prayer you let your spirit repeat through your New season.
Find a routine, and come often to a place where you can get close and intimate with the Lord. We suggest finding a time in your schedule that works best for you, creating a cozy space in your home and even putting it in your calendar. When we spend time with him and in his word- our spirits will naturally start to become steadfast. Give your spirit life- don't neglect your life source.
2. Let your season, be yours.
We may all be in this young woman stage of life together, but we are going to go through New Seasons differently. God intended for you to get something out of this season that is unique to you. He wants to speak to you, love you and lead you in a way that has your name written all over it.
So in the middle of your season, as you learn how to grow and maneuver it with the Lord, allow yourself to love your season and let it be yours. Don't compare yours to hers. Celebrate the small things, celebrate other's process and let your season be full of whatever God has for YOU!
3. Community, makes the journey worth it!
This can be a game changer. You weren't created to go through New Seasons alone. We encourage you to find a community (whether its your sorority, a small group, a close friend or even your hubby) and allow other's to get in your corner. Share this season with them. Be okay with everything not being pretty & perfect. Be brave and share what God is doing in your heart, even if it seems messy.

The life giving truth is, #becomingtribe, that the Lord has placed us in these New Seasons for a reason. Instead of getting overwhelmed by the unsteadiness of life, let's be praying for the Lord to reveal what it is we're supposed to be learning from this. He puts you in seasons to strengthen you and for you to be able to grow intimately with Him.
The Lord believes in you and I believe in you. Let's carry this out and start being Steady!
