Peace When You Find Out You've MISCARRIED

Hi my dear friend. Did you just discover that you’ve had a miscarriage? 💛 I’m so glad you’re here.

Whether we know each other, or you were pointed my way- you’re safe here. I pray you take a deep breath and let your soul breathe and be encouraged.

You aren’t alone. And you have a real new friend, on the other side of this screen, who is WITH you and believing in the beautiful work God is doing in your life.

3 years ago, I wrote this to our email community: “If you don't know our life update: Ry and I were 12 weeks pregnant and found out we were miscarrying a few weeks ago. Oh, it's still painful to write. This month has been the most difficult, painful and emotional of my life. And even a month later, the physical process isn't over yet.

The first beautiful thing that happened though? I miscarried the morning of Week 2 of our Get Unstuck Challenge & was so thankful to spend that evening really real with you friends in our virtual Zoom Small Group.

There is a shift that happens in our spirits when we surround ourselves with life-giving friends who speak life over us and it has truly been the game changer for Ry and I in this season, along with God's indescribable peace He has guided us in every step of the way.

I never knew ANYTHING about miscarriage until I had one (did you?), but it is no small thing.

It's contractions, dilating and labor but without a baby. It's emotionally taxing, the thought of losing what your babe but also losing the dreams and plans you had made for your future. You're all of a sudden back into this waiting season you thought you were done with.

And y e t. In the midst of pain, struggles with anxiety and the unknown- we have never experienced God in such a deep and personal way.

Sometimes your pain, those moments where a l l you can do is depend on the Lord, allows you to shut out other noises. And if you will allow yourself to not stay numb for long but instead to turn your c o r e to Jesus- you'll notice that when God is in the room it's pretty clear.

His presence and peace pierces through.

We just have to quiet the noise, and even our inner dialogue, and pay attention.

I have experienced God's peace in ways I never knew were possible AND YOU CAN TOO.

Listen to me, friend. IF YOU WILL LET IT, this season will produce fertile soil in your heart to experience God in a way that transforms how you live in PEACE.

I’m here to walk you through it. In fact, 3 years later I MENTOR women just like you and help them navigate seasons of waiting <3. You can join us here!

Ways we’ve experienced peace in the seemingly small but POWERFUL things: through speaking His name and claiming His goodness out loud over my body, through filling our home with worship constantly, through friends who have listened to God on our behalf and spoken life over us, through actively trusting & my Stress-Away Young Living essential oil haha!

And while I do desperately wish I was still pregnant, I don't wish I didn't go through this.

You can get there too. <3

Because I've sensed God strongly in t h i s the entire time. And where He is, is where you find ultimate soul rest.

I am believing the same for you sweet friend.

Wherever you are reading from, I hope you can take a deep breath in His presence right here and know that He has never forsaken you.

That it is His GOODNESS & MERCY that follow you, not disaster.

That He is steadfast in His love toward you and every step He is taking with you. Because at my core I know this: WE SERVE A GOD WHO REDEEMS.

He is a protector of you, His beloved daughter. He is madly in love with you. And your story always ends with redemption, when you rest in the Father.

xo,
Lanissa

P.S. Try switching around your environment (move around your furniture, switch up your bedspread) & begin to do some practical small steps toward peace.  LOVE YOU.
